Collaboration across borders
Nordic Collaboration: A Unified Approach
Our commitment to meaningful collaboration is also reflected closer to home. EWB-SWE works closely with our sister organisations in Denmark (Ingeniører Uden Grænser/IUG Denmark) and Norway (Ingeniører Uten Grense/IUG Norge), and we are pleased to welcome a restarted EWB Finland into our growing Nordic network.
Through regular meetings, we exchange ideas, share lessons from our projects, and explore opportunities for joint action. This includes shared activities like webinars during Sustainable Engineering Week, as well as mutual support in ongoing initiatives.
By strengthening ties across the Nordic region, we aim to amplify our collective voice and impact – working together across borders to advance sustainable, inclusive engineering.
Strengthening Ties with EWB International
Engineers Without Borders Sweden (EWB-SWE) is part of a global community of organisations using engineering to promote sustainable development and equality. In 2023, we joined Engineers Without Borders International (EWB-I), a network that connects like-minded organisations from across the world. Together, we share knowledge, tools, and experience to address complex challenges in areas such as water access, infrastructure, and education.
As part of this network, we participated in the 2024 EWB Global Summit in Kuala Lumpur, where representatives from 22 countries came together to strengthen cooperation and launch joint initiatives. This included the creation of a centre for excellence on community infrastructure and the development of new educational programmes. These global connections help us scale our impact and continue learning from diverse perspectives.
